Nollywood actress, Rita Edochie, has called on Nigerians to refrain from questioning the deaths of movie stars, emphasising that death is an inevitable part of life.
In a post shared on her Instagram @ritaedochie, Edochie expressed her displeasure at questions like “What is happening in Nollywood?” and stressed that death is a natural occurrence that affects everyone, not just celebrities.
“Celebrities are humans as well; the same way other people in different walks of life die, that is the same way celebrities die too,” she remarked.
“If teachers, doctors, lawyers, businessmen, women, even pastors can die, then what is so different about the deaths of filmmakers?” she questioned.
Reflecting on the recent passing of Nollywood legend Amaechi Muonagor, Edochie expressed her condolences, acknowledging his efforts to fight his illness. She described Muonagor as more than just a colleague, but a beacon of light whose absence will be deeply felt.
“It was too bad he couldn't recover from this illness. Amaechi, your departure has left an irreplaceable void between my family and I,” Edochie lamented.
