Ghanaian highlife singer Akwaboah Junior has announced the cancellation of his signature annual Valentine's concert dubbed ‘Shades of Love’.

In a statement issued on Saturday, February 10, the artist revealed his disappointment for not being able to stage the event which has become a Valentine’s Day staple over the past 6 years.

“For the past 6 years, 6 Valentine's day has become synonymous with Akwaboah's Shades of Love concert. This is why it pains me to say we will not be able to have our concert this year,” said Akwaboah in the statement.

He explained that upon realising they could not deliver the experience fans have come to expect from the Shades of Love concert, the decision was made to cancel it.

“When it became evident that we cannot deliver what you have come to expect at the Shades of Love concert, the choice was obvious. It is always my wish to give you the best experience because you deserve the best,” the singer stated.

Akwaboah assured fans he has alternative Valentine’s Day surprises planned and promised to provide updates on future concerts and tours slated for the rest of the year.

“That notwithstanding, have some pleasant surprises for you this Valentine. Anticipate,” he said.
