Gospel singer Diana Asamoah has declared her support for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to become president.
She promises to compose a campaign song for him.
In an interview on Hitz FM's Day Break show on Thursday, November 30, the celebrated singer stated "Very soon, I will even drop a campaign song for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia."
When asked if she believes Bawumia can win the 2024 elections, she confidently responded: "every day God does new things so he will do it again."
Defending her involvement in politics, Diana Asamoah said "Celebrities in other countries also openly express their political preferences."
She cited ex-US President Barack Obama's support base which was mostly celebrities as an example.
"'Looking at Obama, when he was running for president, all the celebrities supported him, so why can't we celebrities in Ghana also choose who to support?'" she questioned.
The ‘Wayemeyie’ singer dismissed the notion that she would be disappointed if Bawumia loses, recalling, "Nana Addo has contested and lost before but I wasn't disappointed and supported him til he won so Dr Bawumia will win in Jesus' name."
