Ghanaian rap star Kwesi Arthur has hit back at online trolls following criticism of his performance at Nigerian singer Davido's AWAY Festival in Atlanta, United States over the weekend.
In a viral video, the sparse crowd at Kwesi Arthur's set led many fans to label his performance a "flop" on social media.
This triggered the hashtag "we want Kwesi Arthur back" from supporters demanding a return to his renowned high-energy live shows.
However, the Tema-bred rapper took to social media to slam critics.
"I see y’all comments. Even if there were 2 people in the arena I would have still performed. I go need y’all to shove your opinions up your ass,” Kwesi Arthur wrote in a post on X on Monday, November 20.
Despite the backlash, Kwesi Arthur expressed gratitude to Davido and Justice for the opportunity.
"Big up Davido and Justice for making the boy represent the motherland at Statefarm arena GA. May your light keep shining bright," he said in another post.
Kwesi Arthur is renowned for captivating performances across Ghana and has built a strong international fanbase in recent years where he used to remove his shirt alongside other displays.
However, the lukewarm Atlanta reception left fans questioning if issues hampered his performance at the festival held at the State Farm Arena.
