President Nana Akufo-Addo's choice to fund a National Cathedral has drawn criticism from Ghanaian artist Samini.
According to Samini, the economy merits attention.
He said key among the sector is health in an interview on TV3.
“I don’t buy in the idea of building a national cathedral, it is purely misplaced priority, I wouldn’t say channel it into the art. There are other areas, there is a health sector almost as it nothing going on or nothing to go home about.
“There is security, there is the rural water issue, there is agriculture which is my heart. All these things are there and I would not go and put money into a monument for people to go and pray at,” Samini stated.
He continued that as a true Christian, communicating with God is spiritual.
“In this day and age, people write their prayers on a WhatsApp status and sometimes on Facebook, I wonder if God lives on Facebook. God does not live on Facebook, when you think about it manifest it, it will come to pass, see the more you speak about it, it will give away the aura and the energy that makes it happen.”
