Ghanaian singer Adina Thembi Ndemsi, known by the stage name Adina, has stressed the impact of having the right support system in place as a musician.
In an interview on Accra-based Radio’s ‘Asaase Café’, hosted by Caroline Sampson on September 14, Adina emphasized that the people an artist surrounds themselves with can determine the trajectory of their career.
She highlighted the importance of surrounding oneself with people who are capable, supportive and help advance an artist's vision as they navigate the music industry.
She said "In choosing a team, make sure you make the right choice because those people will make or break you. They have the capacity to take you as far as you want to go. So be careful with it and make sure you make the right choice."
However, Adina acknowledged that if an artist's current team is failing to help them achieve their goals, it's acceptable to reevaluate those relationships.
"Don't be too hard on yourself if you realise you made a mistake in choosing your team. We are humans; we make mistakes, but make sure to move on from your mistakes," she noted.
