Ghanaian hip-hop/afrobeats artist Medikal has announced the release of a new single titled "Sokoo" this coming Friday.
Medikal revealed the upcoming release in a tweet on Tuesday, September 12, sharing a brief dance video snippet about the unreleased track.
In the caption, he teased fans by saying "Sokoo drops on Friday, Tag someone and run away."
From the lyrics, it appears "Sokoo" was inspired by a classic highlife song "Sokoo na mmaa p3" by legendary Ghanaian artiste Amakye Dede.
Released in the 1990s, the song hit centered around the theme that a man needs money or resources before he can pursue a romantic relationship.
Medikal's new song also tackles a similar subject matter about financial stability being important for attracting a desirable partner.
Fans have expressed eagerness for the release on social media after getting a brief preview of the dance-centric song's production and Medikal's swaggering dance moves.
