Award-winning Ghanaian actress and social critic, Lydia Forson, has broken her silence why she has been quiet lately on issues concerning the current government.

The actress took to Twitter on Tuesday, June 6, to explain that she has been unable to speak up against bad government policies because she is currently “chewing ginger.”

Ms. Forson who has been a vocal critic of the government, has been calling out the government on critical national issues.

However, her silence in recent times has raised questions among her followers.

In her tweet, Ms. Forson expressed her amusement at the number of people asking why she doesn't write as much as she used to.

She noted that those same people asking her were mostly those who had an issue with her criticism of the government in the past but now want her to speak up.

“I find it amusing how many people ask why I don’t write as much as I used to. And it’s mostly those who had an issue with it before, but now insist I should.

“I’ve lost my voice waii, I’m chewing ginger. Now you’re suffering di33 voice of the people, sia. You too get a voice,” her tweet reads.

Forson is known for her fearless and outspoken nature, and she has been an inspiration to many young people in Ghana and beyond.

She has used her platform to advocate for social justice and has been a strong voice for the marginalized in society.
