Amerado thanks Ghanaians with new single ‘The Plaque’ after winning VGMAs Best Rapper

Rapper Amerado has expressed his gratitude to Ghanaians with a new single titled "The Plaque" after making history by becoming the first Kumasi rapper to win the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) 'Best Rapper of the Year' award.

In the new song, Amerado acknowledges the support of his fans and Ghanaians that have lifted him to this point in his career.

He raps: "Ghanaians never forsake me, this is your appreciation. Ghanaians love me...I won’t let it into my head. Anyone I have offended I’m sorry. If they hadn’t crowned me who else."

The rapper also reiterated his passion for music and his craft, rapping "I’m not just a rapper I’m an oracle. Kwabena my story is wonderful".

Amerado's win at this year's VGMA made history as he became the first rapper from Kumasi to take home the coveted 'Best Rapper of the Year' plaque, beating out heavyweights including Medikal, Strongman, Lyrical Joe and others.

Prior to the win this year, Amerado had been nominated on multiple occasions but lost all, which in he expressed in his acceptance speech, “I’ve suffered.”
