A well-known Nigerian disc jockey, Mark Kwesi Arthur, known professionally as DJ Azonto, has commented on the heated argument over which Ghanaian and Nigerian singers are doing well.

The singer averred that Ghanaian singers are way better than their colleagues in Nigeria in so many ways.

Speaking to Amansan Krakye on Cape Coast-based Property FM, the "Fa No Fom" crooner asserted that Ghanaians are only behind due to a lack of internal support.

To him, Nigerian artists are currently dominating the global music space because they spend time to support their fellow musicians.

"What kind of music have Nigerians been doing better than us that we can’t also do, but the only problem is that in Ghana we don’t support our own?" he noted.

He continued, "That’s what they do better than us, but gradually we’re learning, and now most artists support themselves when they organize their events.

DJ Azonto expressed optimism about the fact that local artists will soon dominate the global musical terrain since they have started supporting themselves.

"I think that the Nigerians are ahead of us when it comes to supporting each other in the music, but we will surely get there someday," he added on Property Radio in Cape Coast.
