Ghanaian US-based musician Dennis Anane, known popularly as Archipalago, has taken a swipe at Yaw Dabo for condemning movie enthusiasts.

This comes after the Kumahood actor blasted movie lovers, calling people who spend more an hour watching movies "lazy."

Yaw Dabo claims they may not prosper in life.

His comment has since sparked controversies on social media, with many asking questions.

Wading into the conversation, the vociferous singer and social commentator asserted that Yaw Dabo would not have been made it in life considering his small size if not for the fact that he ventured into movie.

In an interview with blogger Zion Felix, Palago Mufasa called out the actor and football administrator to come and apologize.

Palago threatened that he will cause Yaw Dabo some pain whenever he meets him face-to-face anywhere in the country if he doesn't retract his words.

Meanwhile, the Filmmakers and producers association of Ghana (FIPAG) has also condemned Yaw Dabo’s statement.

A letter released on Thursday, February 2, and signed by Mr. James Aboagye, the FIPAG president pleaded with Ghanaians to forgive the movie industry and keep giving them the needed support.

FIPAG’s apology note read: “The Film Producers' Association of Ghana (FIPAG) wishes to render an unqualified apology to the Ghanaian public on behalf of the Association, the Film Industry, Actors and all film Producers for a recent statement made by an actor YAW DABO calling Ghanaians who sit for more than an hour to watch movie lazy people.

“The film fraternity finds his statement very unsavory, offensive and insult. Such behaviour or attitude is an affront to the film industry and should not be entertained and supported by any well-mannered person.

“Again, we are of the believe that our brother when given another chance to respond to whatever question that was posed to him would not repeat what he said. Any public resentment that his statement may have caused is deeply regretted."

It concludes, “We pray that Ghanaians would find a space in their hearts and forgive him and continue to support the Film Industry.”
