Stonebwoy has waded into the controversies that surrounded American rapper Meek Mill’s music video shoot at the Jubilee House, the seat of Ghana’s government.

Ghanaians, particularly those on social media were outraged after discovering that the pop star who was billed for the Afro Nation concert in Ghana had access to high places at the presidential villa for a video shoot.

In the said video shared online by the American icon himself, he used R-rated lyrics while standing by a podium meant for official events.

When asked about his opinion during an interview on the popular Breakfast Club show on New York-based Power FM on Tuesday, January 31, Stonebwoy said though it was totally wrong, it was due to the rapper’s ignorance of Ghanaian laws.

According to Stonebwoy, there was no way Meek Mill could have shot the music video at the blank side of the security.

The reggae-dancehall singer hinted that the African-American musician was just excited and wanted to do something to serve as a point of remembrance.

"Truth be told, I can’t come to the State and go to the White House and do whatever I want to do, except there was a certain amount of leeway that will allow me to do stuff," he said.

"I don’t think it’s a big deal, but the internet went crazy. And he did the best thing he had to do because, for me, I think this was the job of the security personnel and protocol to make sure that we don’t film over here, we don’t do this over here, and we don’t do that.

"He’s excited and doesn’t know the laws, I believe. He only tried to get the best out of his trip. And coming out to apologise shows you his true intentions. He wasn’t in the know to go and throw dirt on such a place," Stonebwoy averred.
