Ghanaian sensational singer Camidoh has recounted how he used to promote his mother’s business by singing.

The Sugarcane crooner said he used to sit by his mother and sing for her customers, particularly the female ones.

Camidoh noted that it was very helpful as his mother, who was a House Mistress at Ola Girls Senior High School, always had her drinks and snacks sold out.

Apart from his unique voice, he said the ladies were coming back frequently to have a look at his handsome face.

“I used to help my mom sell, and I was loving it.

"I used to sing, and girls loved the music, so they used to come and buy more so that they could get the chance to listen to me and look directly into my face," he asserted.

Sharing his thoughts on the Accra-based Joy Prime TV on why Nigerian musicians have been making huge gains from music, Camidoh cited massive investment.

To him, it will be very hard for a Ghanaian artist who invests only around GHS12,000 for a music video to compare his gains with those of a Nigerian artist who spends the least about 30,000 dollars and above.

“In Nigeria, you pay like US$30,000 standard, US$40,000. If you want to be like them, you have to think of a US$50,000 budget for your release.

“You can't release a music video in Nigeria and think that you are going to spend GH¢12,000. Your music won't do anything. It is about putting in; that's how you make it back," he said.
