What could have rather been a congratulatory message to his colleague, Shatta Wale rather threw shades at Sarkodie for doing a song with a "ghost."

The most decorated African rapper, Sarkodie, recently made a huge gain by appearing on the legendary Bob Marley’s "Stir It Up" track remix.

As expected, the news attracted mixed reactions on various new media platforms and also in mainstream media.

On his part, the "Melissa" hitmaker noted sarcastically in an interview on Kumasi-based Luv FM that Ghanaians should praise Sarkodie for being the first person to feature a "ghost" on a song.

"As we hear, Sarkodie has featured Bob Marley; it’s so beautiful; at least we have someone who has featured a ghost; we should praise him," Shatta Wale indirectly jabbed Sarkodie.

When asked about how he feels about such comments on his achievement while engaging his Sark Nation fanbase in a Twitter space, the rapper turned awry on Shatta Wale’s comments but noted that he is optimistic people are happy with the feature.

"I haven’t checked social media that much, but I think everybody is happy for what has happened unless I’m proven wrong," he said.

When pushed to respond to Shatta Wale’s comments, Sarkodie skillfully said, "That’s not bad; I take it as a compliment."

Meanwhile, the audio and visuals of Bob Marley and the Wailers remix featuring Sarkodie were released on all digital streaming platforms on Friday, January 20.
