Reagan Mends resigns from Hot FM after 7years

After working at Accra-based radio station Hot 93.9FM for seven years, renowned entertainment Journalist, Reagan Mends has finally resigned from the media company.

Reagan, who has worked with Hot FM since October 2015, tendered in his resignation on Wednesday, December 7,2022.

Until his resignation, the controversial entertainment Journalist was the editor of the station's website Hotfmghana.com and the executive producer of "Hot and Classic showbiz Review" - an award-winning entertainment show which was hosted by ace broadcaster Dr. WHO.

Confirming the news of his resignation via his Facebook page, Reagan emphasised that in the best interests of his career, he feels that the time is right for him to move on.

He took time to thank the management of the Accra-based Media Company for giving him the opportunity to exhibit his journalistic prowess to the world through their platforms (Hot FM and Hotfmghana.com).

Even though he refused to disclose his next destination, he assured his fans it will be out soon.

"End Of An Era! My 7-year journey at FP Communications has finally come to an end. I have really enjoyed my time working at such a venerated Media House but in the best interests of my career, I feel that the time is right to move on.

"In line with this, I would like to thank the management for all the opportunities you presented to me within the period of my employment to exhibit my journalistic prowess to the world through your platforms (Hot 93.9FM and Hotfmghana.com) I am extremely glad for your prodigious support!" Reagan stated.

Apart from being a renowned entertainment Journalist, Reagan is also regarded as one of the best brains when it comes to artiste management. He managed late dancehall/hiplife artiste Terry Bonchaka at a very tender age, and also artists like King Ayisoba, Sherifa Gunu and Okuraseni Samuel.

In 2007, Reagan became the first and youngest Ghanaian artiste manager to manage a traditional artiste (King Ayisoba) to win the overall top award at the Ghana Music Awards.

In 2012, he worked with Sherifa Gunu on her hit song titled ‘Mbrantie’, which made an impact on the world music scene.

He has also helped countless celebrated artists including Joe Mettle, Captain Planet, Guru, Kwabena Kwabena and many others to build huge fan bases during his time as the editor for popular entertainment and lifestyle website, RazzOnline.com

In 2017, his write-ups for Joe Mettle helped the 'Bonooni' hitmaker to make history as the first Gospel Musician to win the coveted 'Artiste Of The Year' award at the prestigious Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
