Musician Aliaune Damala Badara Akon Thiam, known widely as Akon has eulogised Black Sherif.
He has revealed that among the new artists trending in Africa, he adores and cherishes the "Villain I Never Was" album maker.
If no big record label signs the rising Ghanaian superstar, the American-Senegalese singer said in an interview with Eddie Kadi on BBC Radio 1Xtra that he will sign Black Sherif to his Konvict record label.
The global music icon added that his love for Black Sherif is because the young artist reminds him of his early days in music.
"I'm a huge fan of Black Sherif; he reminds me of when I was starting. If no major picks him up, they need to get to him before I do," said Akon.
The first and second sermons hitmaker has pushed Ghanaian music to the outside world, which earned him the nomination as the "Best International Flow" in the just-ended BET Hip-Hop Awards.
