Whether you like it or not, I'm one of the best songwriters in Ghana’s history — Kweku Darlington brags

Ghanaian songwriter and singer Emmanuel Kweku Owusu Darlington has boasted about his worth in the Ghanaian music industry.

He said he is one of the best songwriters in this country and even the whole world.

Speaking on Accra-based TV3’s New Day show, the "Sika Aba Fie" hitmaker lamented the lack of appreciation from Ghanaians for artists in their prime.

To him, he will never wait to go on retirement like seasoned high-life singer Daddy Lumba before he receives his appreciation; hence, he will do it himself.

“At the time Daddy Lumba started, we didn’t see him as a legend. It is now that we are seeing and appreciating his talent.

“As for me, I’m saying it here. Whether you like it or not, Ghanaians and the world are witnessing one of the best songwriters ever in Ghana,” he said.

After the release of "Sika aba die," which made his name a household moniker across the length and breadth of the country and even beyond, Kweku Darlington has remained a strong figure in the industry.

He has since released similar hit tracks like Sika Kankan, Bebi Awu, Go Slow, Onipa and several others.
