Jacinta Asi Ocansey, a Nigerian-Ghanaian stand-up comedian, singer, and actress, is urging Ghanaians to value comedy as a good and valuable profession.
According to Asi Occansey, most of the influential figures in the country behave like comedians, just that they don't take it seriously as a profession.
Jacinta listed to Akwasi Aboagye on his evergreen entertainment review show on Accra-based Peace FM that the President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo and his Vice, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia are comedians.
Why the President and his vice are all comedians, she didn't explain further but added that Despite Media’s broadcaster, Abeiku Santana, as well as self-acclaimed African reggae-dancehall king, Shatta Wale, are also comedians.
“There are so many comedians in this country today, it’s just that they have not called themselves comedians, but they are comedians, we know them,” she claimed.
She revealed that “Shatta Wale is one of them, Abeiku Santana is one of them, Nana Addo is one of them, Bawumia is one of them.”
“My profession is one of the most respected professions in the world,” she added.
