I was young and naive — KiDi apologizes over how he insulted Mahama, Akufo-Addo, Mills, others

Netizens on Twitter have started digging into Afropop musician KiDi, real name Dennis Nana Dwamena’s handle, and came out with his old hostile tweets.

The artist about eight years ago, when fame eluded found him was a figure whose nature was something like twice as a cyberbully.

He used to take on popular figures regardless of their age, achievement or status. People he jabbed in his tweets were former President John Dramani Mahama, whom he described as "useless", and President Akufo-Addo, whose face was described by the musician as a "foolish-looking one."

In a tweet about Sarkodie, he stated that the artist will never win a Grammy Award. He added that people who are waiting for that to happen are wasting their time.

Also, he confessed his undying love for an old schoolmate and TV3 journalist, Anita Akufo. He described media personality Delay as an illiterate. He also jubilated over the death of late President J.E Mills.

After being trolled on social media following the resurfacing of these old tweets, KiDi has apologised for that old lifestyle of his.

According to KiDi, he is now mature and has realised that such tweets are unhealthy and, as such, must not be entertained. He is asking the general public and those affected to forgive him.

“Years ago, when I was young and ignorant and didn't understand the implications and consequences of my words, I tweeted things that were inappropriate and unkind.

“As I matured, I came to be extremely regretful of these actions and how they affected the parties involved. I want to apologise again to everyone for the statements I made, and use this to remind us all to be mindful of the things we say and how they affect people. Let's be kind to each other,” KiDi’s apology note on his Twitter handle today, September 29, reads.
