What Nii Funny said about Ga women that got him widely condemned

Ga musician and native, Ishmael Nii Ardey Ankrah, better known as Nii Funny, has incurred the wrath of the Ga community over his recent derogatory comments against them.

In his statement that has since sparked controversy, the musician described Ga women as "lazy and beggars."

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Peace FM’s entertainment show to promote his newly released single, Nii Funny revealed that as the reason he doesn’t like his fellow Ga women, hence married to a foreigner.

“The girls in my Ga town don’t like me. They’re afraid of me. I also don’t like some of their characters. The ladies like to beg a lot. Any small opportunity, they’ll ask you for money,” he said.

The long-standing musician again claimed that the money always asked by the Ga women is not even for genuine reasons.

“When you query them on what they need the money for they say they going to buy funeral cloth and sow for a late uncle’s father’s stepbrother’s funeral. And finally, few of them like to work, they’re lazy,” he said backing it with experiences from those he encountered.
