Management of the health facility in Abuja where the corpse of the late Nigerian gospel singer Osinachi Nwachukwu was kept has debunked all claims that she sings her popular song, ‘Ekwueme’ at night.

There were reports that attendants at the mortuary of the hospital had complained of hearing the corpse singing mostly at night.

The reports went viral as many believed it claiming that the singer’s soul is still in grief.

But the hospital says the corpse singing at night cannot be scientifically and medically proven.

“Medically, there is nothing like that; it’s just an imagination of people. Somebody that is dead and is a corpse, how would such a person be singing in the night?

"There is no medical backup to that; it’s an image that may be due to the church she attended while alive, and the songs may just be giving people ideas, but there is no proof in any way. It just can’t be proven in any way” an official in the facility, Dr. Taiwo Haastrup.

He added, “Somebody that is dead is dead and has become a corpse; it’s inside a morgue, it can’t sing and can’t move so it’s an imagination of people.”
