A student of the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ), Amanda Atunah has won the 2022 Best Student in Online Journalism in the 3rd Edition of the Communication Students' Awards (CSA) ceremony, organized on Saturday, at the Ghana India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence.

The awards ceremony, was a programme designed to help empower and appreciate the works of Communication Students across the length and breadth of the country.

A number of honorary awards were given out to deserving communication students for their various contributions in the media space. Amanda writes for most of the prominent online portals in the country and has used her works to challenge the status quo.

In the competitive category, Amanda Atunah of GIJ came up top as the Best Student In Online Journalism for her demonstrated commitment to work, high sense of professionalism, upholding the ethics of the profession and writing of news and opinion stories to champion the welfare of journalists, lecturers and holding power bearers accountable.

Amanda Atunah thanked God Almighty for the opportunity. “Indeed, every nominee deserves this award. However, the best person won. I dedicate this all important award to my lovely mom, Christiana Atunah, my sister, Kimberly Atunah, my beautiful Auntie, Pokuah not forgetting Stephen Bernard Donkor for his immense contribution towards the success of this all important award."

She thanked the organisers, Sky Infinity Group for putting together such an awards scheme aimed at awarding the deserving. “To the other nominees who were equally phenomenal as you gave the winners a run for their money. Kudos to everyone. God bless us all”, she noted.
