Nigerian comic actress, Funke Akindele – Bell’s debut self-directed movie ‘Omo Ghetto (The Saga)’ has been named Nollywood’s highest grossing movie of all time.
The movie, co-directed by JJC Skillz has broken Kemi Adetiba’s comedy movie ‘The Wedding Party’ which was released in 2016.
A statement by the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN) states that, ‘Omo Ghetto (The Saga)’ has grossed N468,036,300 (equivalent to $1,223,624.27) after three straight weeks of maintaining the number one spot.
Popularly known as Jennifer, Funke is the programs creator of the Nigerian sitcom series, 'Jennifer's Diary' which begun airing in 2015. She starred as the main character alongside her husband JJC Skills who was the director.
Some movie lovers have however taken to their social media handles to laud the actress.
