Beyoncé's African dancehall king, Shatta Wale has credited Ghana's Kuchoko legend, Blakk Rasta, for his success as a hardcore dancehall energy and strategy.

Speaking in an interview on Sunday, 2nd August 2020 with BBC's 1Xtra host, Robbo Ranx, a veteran in the Dancehall clash arena, Shatta Wale minced no words when he said that it took him 17 years to reach where he is now. When Robbo Ranx asked him about how hard Blakk Rasta was pounding Ghana's radio with hard-hitting Reggae and, if that inspired him, Shatta agreed and gave credit to Blakk Rasta for his hard energy towards dancehall. "I had to go hard like Blakk Rasta...," he said.

Within this year, the two biggest dancehall acts in Ghana, Shatta Wale, and Stonebwoy have both attributed their success to Blakk Rasta with even Stonebwoy calling him, his Godfather.

Blakk Rasta is currently on Zylofon 102.1fm in Accra even pounding the radio harder than before. He just released an unprecedented 32 track album called Timbuktu By Road in November 2019.

He followed it with Mallam Tonga, a South African Gqom banger who is rocking Ghana right now with several streams on Audiomack.
