Controversial Ghanaian entertainment Critic and artiste Manager, Kwaku Osei Koranteng Asiedu, popularly known as KOKA has advised Ghanaian female artists to desist going on Twitter to prevent being bullied.

Speaking on the topic ‘Female Bullying in the Ghanaian music industry’ on the popular entertainment program, ‘Entertainment City’ hosted by Nana Adwoa Annan on Atinka TV, KOKA deliberated that, though bullying is everywhere, cyberbullying is the most atrocious.

According to him,” If you really know your brand, then there are some platforms that are not relevant for you to use as an artist. For a place like Twitter, do not be there if you don’t have the charisma or courage ”.

“A brand is built on Facebook and Instagram so that after much authority and courage are garnered, you move to Twitter; there are enough fans or “soldiers” to defend you”, he explained

He believes that if any artist wants to promote their brand, it should be done on any other social media platform but not Twitter. After establishing that there is a lot of bullying on Twitter, he added that bullying also emerges from envy and hate.

The outspoken entertainment critic explained that a lot of people do or say things to people whom they wish they were close to.

He emphasized that sometimes, the method of interview used by certain presenters is merely ridiculing and that is where the bullying starts.

Expressing his candid and heartfelt opinion on the recent issue where Ruff Town Records Signed artist, Wendy Shay is being purported to have been bullied during a recent interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, KOKA delineated that it was unprofessional of the presenter because they should’ve had a pre-interview, but he sternly argued that the ‘Bedroom Commando’ hitmaker was never bullied.

He advised Ghanaian journalists to stop intimidating artistes by stating that,” an interview is a two-way affair; presenters get the content and the artists get the attention. If the one who is supposed to promote, project and make the artists feel good is rather intimidating them, how do you think that fans will perceive them?”
