MAY 20, 2019 LISTEN

A group identified as Up and Coming Association of Ghana has called on the Ghana Police to prosecute the two rival Ghanaian Artistes, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy with immediate effect in order to discourage the public from adopting such lifestyle.

Speaking of the uncalled incident that occurred at this year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA) which was held on Saturday 18th May, 2019 in Accra, the group condemned the brawl and called on the board of Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (UAAG) to suspend Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy from all their activities.

The group believes this will serve as a deterrent to both Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy and at the same time instill disciple into young artists who look up to these two dancehall artistes.

Below is their full statement:

UAAG CONDEMNS VOILENCE AT THE 2019 VGMA EVENT

Up and Coming Artiste Association of Ghana (UAAG), wishes to express disappointments and condemnation of the violence between fans of the two leading Ghanaian reggae/dance hall artistes, Livingston Este Satekla (Stonebwoy) and Charles Nii Armah Mensah (Shatta Wale), that marred the 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards last Saturday night.

The association is calling on the VGMA Board and Charterhouse to act immediately by suspending the two artistes from their subsequent events.

The association again, want the police to expedite investigations to prosecute the two artistes to set deterrent to the young ones.

As an association in the Music Industry, we want the artistes including fans from both sides to smoke peace pipe to strengthen the industry.

We wish that, the VGMA Board and Charterhouse would take note from this unfortunate and embarrassing incident to make subsequent events a problem free.

Long live Ghana....

Long live Ghana Music..
