There was something unique about the 2018 edition of the Joy FM Keteke Fever which was held at the Omanye Hall of the Labadi Beach Hotel in Accra on Wednesday night.
The location coupled with a beautiful setup made it a perfect venue for the Joy FM Keteke Fever. The venue was hosting the event for the first time this year. The Banquet Hall, State House had for some years been the home of the Keteke Fever.
A perfectly lit walkway welcomed patrons to the Omanye Hall. The foyer had well-arranged tables and chairs - all covered in white cloths and a well-stocked bar stirred at you to the left. At the bar, neatly dressed ladies and gentlemen stood more than ready to attend to the needs of patrons.

The main hall of the Omanye Hall – was simply out of this world.
The tables and chairs – draped in all white– were neatly arranged at perfect spots leaving just the right calculation of space for dancing in the middle.
With the support of Event Factory, Joy FM had mapped out the venue to make sure patrons had the best ‘teleportic’ experience ever.
A unique feature was the LED lights on the dance floor. It was just beautiful seeing the lights change while patrons danced the night away.
The Omanye Hall on Boxing Day had the best 70s-80s discotheque era setting any event could have on offer.
At 8 pm, patrons trickled gradually and as they were ushered into the venue, Sammy Forson was busy behind the turntables giving them a feel of what the night had in stock.
Joy FM’s Keteke Fever, has over the years, been the only party, which teleports participants back to the golden era of the ‘70s and ‘80s with classic music, dance, fashion and unadulterated entertainment.
As the night grew older, so the patrons grew. On the night, politicians, legal practitioners, medical practitioners, businessmen were young again.
After a stressful year, Joy FM’s Keteke Fever, sponsored by Stanbic Bank, was the exact antidote to the stress.
By 10 pm, the venue was jamming. Sammy Forson, after doing justice as expected, handed the music baton to Andy Dosty who did not waste time to keep the partying and dancing going.
Songs like, Four Season’s ‘December 1963 (Oh What A Night)’, Teddy Pendergrass’ ‘When Somebody Loves You Back’, Kool & The Gang’s ‘Let’s Go Dancing’, The Staple Singers’ ‘I’ll Take You There’, George Benson’s ‘Give Me the Night’, and Barry White’s ‘Can’t Get Enough Of Your Love, Babe’ got esteemed patrons dancing all night long.
Andy Dosty and Sammy Forson changed batons from time to time to keep the steam going.
Patrons apart from the non-stop dancing that ended at 4 am, were served with the signature late-night pepper soup.
At 4 am, satisfied guests were seen walking out of the venue beaming with smiles and satisfaction written all over their faces.
An even bigger experience awaits them next year, Joy FM has promised.
