Actor Adjetey Anang has said that despite the movie industry's momentarily nosedive, he is enjoying his acting career more than when the industry was thriving.

Speaking on Hitz fm on Monday, he described his experience as surprising.

According to him, he has shot more movies this year than he has ever done in his career.

“When you really take the statistics, the number of movies that we churn out in a month have definitely gone down and most producers have slowed down; if they are actually producing or not at all. So yes, you can say the industry has taken a nosedive. But of course in every business, there are ups and downs and I think every now and then we go through those things. But the good thing is that out of that comes something new and it is what we do when times are bad that makes us sustainable when things become okay. Surprisingly, as I said earlier, it is rather at this time that I have done most of my works. I used to do at most 3 or 4 movies a year but from January to date, I think I am on my 9th movie,” he revealed.

In addition to that, Adjetey said he is a lecturer at the National Film & Television Institute (NAFTI) and has also been getting ambassadorial gigs as well.

Meanwhile, Mr. Anang, who is popularly known as 'Pusher' also eulogised local Twi language actors and actresses describing them as very talented.

He said the perception that film makers in the local movie industry known as Kumawood are not professional is not true.

He explained that most of the Kumasi-based actors deliver more than the English-speaking actors in Accra.

“People think those in Kumawood are shallow but sometimes they are way better; their delivery is spontaneous and natural…”

He added that, the only thing that might be a plus to the English language acting crew is vocabulary.

“We are just good with the vocabulary but they really are the big deal…” he said after citing the experience he gained from acting with veteran actor, Akrobeto.
