Remy J To Release Maiden Album

Elikem Cofie, better known in the music fraternity by the moniker Remy J is preparing to launch his first music album.

The yet-to-be-released album, titled "Spirit of Balance" has 12 top-flight and enchanting songs, rendered predominantly in English and Ewe.

According to Remy J, the album was inspired by his musical journey and vagaries of life.

"The story behind this album is all about ups and downs in life. Often times, we take just the positive aspects of life, rejecting the negative ones, but both are needed to keep us going in life", he said.

The spiky hair dude went on to stress the need for people to learn to accept both the good and the bad with equanimity, as life is always not rosy.

"If you have a problem accept it and turn it into something good," he added.

Most of the songs on the album seek to encourage and advise. This clearly departs from the usual braggadocio and love songs secular music lovers are always flooded with.

The "Spirit of Balance" album features some of Volta Region's finest artistes viz. McD, Lega, Kush Elikem, Kasare, Lyrical Joe (L.J.), Kayien Selorm and Keeny Ice.

Timz Beatz, McD, Azeez Ajibade (A-Z), S-Bling, Lawex Production, Sense Beat, Smokey Beatz and SSK were the sound engineers and producers who worked on the album.

Remy J is a rapper par excellence. Some music connoisseurs who have heard him rap even wonder if it was the late 2Pac who has reincarnated in Ho (the capital of Volta Region).

The Ghanaian lad has also demonstrated over the years that singing is his forte as well. To say that his velvety voice is a sheer delight will be stating the obvious.

Mentioning names of young fantabulous musicians in the Volta Region and not including Remy J is like drawing the African map without Madagascar.

Domiciled in Ahoe - a suburb of Ho, Remy J hails from Keta in the Volta Region. He's an alumnus of Mawuli School and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA). He is also a Network Engineer and businessman.

Remy J hopes to soar up to the upper echelon of the music world after the release of his maiden music project – “Spirit of Balance”.
