Kwame Asare Obeng who goes by the stage name A Plus, says actress Yvonne Nelson should be credited for the end of erratic power supply popularly termed as “Dumsor”.
The vociferous musician who described the actress a “complete woman and heroine” recounted how she led masses through the streets of Accra to force the then government (NDC) to fix the prevailing energy crisis in 2015.
“Many people have forgotten so soon how this woman stood up and fought the government when we experienced our worse energy crises.
“In spite of all that was said about her and the threats she received, fear did not stop her from doing what makes Ghana great,” he said in a post on Instagram.
He indicated that he has so much respect for the actress as she is part of the reason why the nation is enjoying stable power supply today.
“Yvonne Nelson is one of the human beings I have so much respect for. We cannot talk about the stable electricity we are enjoying today without mentioning her. She is the Yaa Asantewaa of our time. #Smart #Beautiful #intelligent #bold #heroine #womanofsubstance. ɔbaa Hemaa, I hail you this morning….” a portion of his post read.
