Naija Snub: Sarkodie Finally Speaks
Ghanaian hip hop recording artist and entrepreneur, Micheal Owusu Addo, known as Sarkodie has revealed that, the recent reaction of Nigerians at the launch of MenzGold and Zylofon Media was not a surprise.
The Ghanaian rapper said that, he had issues breaking into the Nigerian Music Industry as a result of the people not knowing him and his style of music.
Speaking to Andy Dosty on Hitz fm, Sark said the Nigerian has been fixed by the Nigerian Government and so it makes difficult for the foreign artist to break into Nigeria.
“Back in the day, you rarely see Ghanaian music videos on Nigerian channels” he said.
Rapper Sarkodie revealed all his features with most Nigerians and other artist were for free. He said that, he hasn’t taken money from many Ghanaians as well to feature on.
“Almost all the Nigerian collaborations I am on happened after their artistes reached out” he added.
“The beat for “Hope (Brighter Days)” was sent to me by JMJ and it took me six years to put something in it”.
Speaking about his marriage with Tracy and She avoiding some people coming close to the rapper, he said Tracy loves all those coming to close and have never reacted to any of the boys especially the young rappers coming close.
