Muse Africa, a music, urban pop culture and Africa's millennial engagement platform has announced nominees for its quarterly social media music awards called Bangerz of the Quarter.

It is designed to celebrate the biggest songs that made waves on social media, on MuseAfrica.com and across the capital.

Bangerz of the Quarter duration for the second edition is from May to August 2018.

Talking about the Muse Africa Bangerz of the Quarter social media awards, Head of Editorial for Muse Africa, George Wiredu Duah, explained the idea as a way to celebrate the biggest songs that made us dance, think and relax every quarter.

“The awards started off in the first quarter from January to April, 2018 and it had winners likes Kidi, Guilty Beats, Kwesi Arthur, Yaa Pono, Stonebwoy Agbeshie and StrongMan,' he noted.

George also mentioned that this edition of Bangerz of the Quarters has added some new categories to the already existing ones such as; Hip Life, hi-life, Reggae / Dancehall, Hip hop, Afrobeats, Introlude and the biggest award – Song of the Quarter.

He lamented that new categories such as 'TwoSome', Artiste Hustle of the Quarter, Female Artiste, Male Artiste, Mood All Quarter, African Artiste and Producer of the Quarter have been added because of the huge desire to celebrate the music and the musician that made waves on social media.

In his concluding remarks, George stressed that voting for the awards are done on social media – i.e. @MuseAfrica and on the website MuseAfrica.com.

The social media public gets to have 60% of the votes while a team made up of DJ and TV/Radio presenters plus Muse Music Curators gets 40%.

King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Medikal lead this quarter's nominations while, Wendy Shay leads the female squad.
