MTN/ Metro TV soccer reality show underway
THE MUCH publicized MTN Soccer Reality show gets underway today, and for the next 12 weeks, viewers will be thrilled with quality footwork by the 14 housemates on the two networks of Metro TV every day.
The programme, the brainchild of the CEO of Metro TV, which was launched on June 1, was preceded by an electrifying induction ceremony at the academy house last Saturday evening.
It was a well-organized ceremony by all standards, which saw a white limousine which drove in the 14 house mates into the academy house.
Dressed in a yellow, red and white Jako track suits with a white snickers to march, the 14 young men came from the elegant car amid cheers from their fans one after the other.
And beginning this morning from 6:30-7:30, a live morning soap will roll on Metro TV for 30 minutes. The soap will be repeated from10am-10: 30am and from 9am-12noon, the boys will engage in a training exercise to be handled by Coach Ibrahim Sunday and other seasoned coaches.
Training resumes from 2pm-5pm and will be followed with broadcast lessons from 6pm-8pm. From 11:30pm-12am, there will be 30minutes highlight show on Metro TV.
It will follow the same trend, which will be subjected to changes as the days roll by.
While in the house, the team will be divided into two groups, spotting the colours of MTN, yellow and blue who will feature in a five aside competitions against guest teams.
On Tuesdays, the first group in yellow will take on a guest team to be telecast at 6pm, while the other group spotting blue will play under flood lights on Thursdays every week.
On Sundays the two groups will play against each.
The first eviction show, which will be mixed with entertainment, begins on August 19 from 6:30-8pm and when the number is reduced to eight, they will be playing against the reserve sides of Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak
Also on the Academy's schedule is a weekly visit to Frankies Restaurant in Osu in a programme dubbed Frankies Night and occasional visits to the Ministries.
On Sundays, there will be a programme code named confession time where the housemates will be granted much time to speak extensively on what they went through in the past week.
At the end of the day, the final two housemates will battle for supremacy at the National Theatre in a programme dubbed “November to Remember” where the ultimate winner will drive home a Hyundai Assent salon car, a 21-day training tour with an European club and $5,000 cash.
