Dancehall artiste Stonebwoy, who was recently reported to have ignored his label mate Kumi Guitar at 3 Music Awards, has revealed why he took that decision.

According to Stonebwoy who had called Kumi Guitar a hypocrite and opportunist, the 'Betweener' singer approached him at the backstage of 3 Music Awards about 2 months ago but avoided him.

He said, he rather told Kumi he was a hypocrite.
“We met at the 3 Music Awards when he came to say ‘hi’ to me but I made him know that you don't get yourself involved in stuff like this. You may be older than I am but you don't have to do that because you don't know whatever it is and you can't just come in from your own angle.” he said.

“You've calculated the benefits you will gain from it but don't take it as a joke because it is not to me. So after everything you come and stand in front of me trying to vibe me with, masa we are not going to allow that thing, Stonebwoy further noted.

Confirming the incident on Delay's Show, Stonebwoy said he was hurt that Kumi recorded a ‘diss’ song for him when he [Stonebwoy] had an issue with the management of Zylofon Music record label.

He said because Kumi poked his nose into a matter he was not involved in, he thought it was not safe to entertain him when they met at the programme.

“Imagine you are at the backstage of a programme, and somebody who recorded a ‘diss’ song for you comes to look for you. It is risky. It is dangerous. We have to be security conscious,” he said.

When asked what his response was for Kumi Guitar, he reiterated: “I told him I was not happy with what he did. Because it appears he was tempting me. I couldn't have pretended to be happy with him.”

Kumi Guitar, another artiste on the Zylofon Music record label released a ‘diss’ song titled 'Gyae' for Stonebwoy few months ago when the latter had an altercation with some executive of Zylofon Media at Champs Bar, a popular pub in Accra.

According to Kumi, he did the song to advise Stonebwoy not to put up any behavior which would discourage the Chief Executive Officer of Zylofon Media, Nana Appiah Mensah from investing in the arts.
