Seth Kwame Boateng Meets The Intelligent, Articulate Rendezvous TV show host

Atinka TV Productions show "Rendezvous" hosted by Jemilla Suleman is a rising brand where thought-provoking issues are digested and further seeks to find solutions to social issues.

Last week's edition of the show featured award-winning seasoned journalist of the Multimedia Group, Seth Kwame Boateng.

The topic tackled focused on "The State of Ghanaian Prisons".

Seth Kwame Boateng has investigated and probed an array of issues affecting society including in-depth stories about Ghanaian prisons and death-row.

After having a very compelling discussion about the poor treatment of prisoners at the various prisons taking into cognizance the fact that many of them were in there without trial and might be innocent, the host quizzed.....

Jemilla: "Our prisons, are they for reforms or they are just a place to keep people who have faulted against the law. What is the purpose of our prisons, apart from those on the condemned block who we know are going on death-row to be killed but what about the others?"

Seth: "They are to be reformed but you asked a fantastic question and I hope somebody in authority is watching us and he or she is thinking about this question.Are we reforming them or we are hardening them because most of them come back and they are hardened? They are not reformed and they come back and society rejects them.

Jemilla: But do people in authority know this? The government, policy makers etc, do they know that a prison is a place where people should be reformed?

Seth: They know but they have not acted yet.
