General News George Quaye 'Attacks' Jupiter For Insulting VGMA Board Members
MAR 8, 2018 LISTEN

Head of Communications at Charterhouse; organisers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA), George Quaye has described as unfortunate, derogatory remarks made against the firm by dancehall act Jupitar.

After the release of the nominations list for this year’s awards scheme, Jupitar, took to social media expressing his displeasure at being overlooked in the nominations for the year.

According to him, he won Artiste of the Year (Africa) at the Urban Music Awards in the UK last year and therefore should have been recognised in the VGMA as well.

He tweeted on March 3 that, “VGMA board, y'all bunch a idiots and hypocrites, I f**king submitted this time and it was a song that actually won big in U.K. (Clowns), keep it up.”

He also added, “Y'all jokers, and you f**king up the game big time, so a song that won big in U.K. Didn't stand the chance for even just a nomination??? Don't even ask if I submitted”.

George Quaye reacting to the tweets on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM with Andy Dosty, described as unfortunate, the attitude exhibited by the musician.

“It was unfortunate that Jupiter decided to go that line, to decide to insult legends that sit on the board,” he stated.

Despite the decision of the board not to put out the names of the board members, Mr Quaye described them as “people whose influence in this industry cannot be doubted in any way.”

Therefore to “spew insults at them because of a nomination, I think it’s just unfortunate”.

According to George Quaye, the musician was justified in expressing disappointment at not being nominated, however, he was attracting “curses upon himself by insulting people old enough to be your father”.

The media personality admonished the ‘Enemies’ hitmaker to apologise for those comments on his social media platforms. - Myjoyonline.com
