Ghanaian mental health advocate and entrepreneur, Nana Abena Korkor Addo has attributed the behavior of social media trolls during her manic episodes to ignorance.

The young UCC graduate who suffered two episodes of bipolar disorder and took to social media to make some controversial revelations, has explained on The Late Afternoon Show with Berla Mundi how people ridiculed her out of ignorance.

According to her, people at the time of her manic episodes were ignorant of the disorder and so instead of getting upset and worried, she took advantage of her situation to educate them more on the need to avoid stigmatizing mental health patients. She however mentioned how supportive her dean of students, comrades and friends during the period.

Lency as she popularly called, also narrated her first experience with Bipolar Disorder and how she boarded a bus at dawn from Capecoast to Accra with no money on her.
