Add God to your music talent - Dr. Lawrence Tetteh advises artistes

International televangelist Dr Lawrence Tetteh has used a memorial service for the late dancehall star Ebony, to urge artistes to give their lives to Christ.

He explained that no matter how gifted a person may be where to spend eternity is critical.

"Nobody will be here in a 100 years' time," he told a packed compound of mourners, fans, friends and family at the St. Martins De Porres in Dansoman, a suburb of Accra.

Dr Lawrence Tetteh who is said to be the late singer's spiritual father testified of Ebony as a talented music prodigy who was trying to develop a relationship with God, states a report by Myjoyonline.

He said it is entirely possible that Ebony could have become a preacher if she had lived any longer.

The televangelist discounted speculations surrounding the tragic passing of the 20-year old star who died along with two friends in a motor accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi road last week Thursday night.

The renowned man of God said anybody can die of any cause including getting choked while drinking water.

He also urged a stop to speculations about Ebony's eternal destiny saying such matters should be left to God.

Shatta Wale featured prominently in his exhortation as Dr Lawrence Tetteh observed his strong will and aggression can be useful to God.

"I saw Shatta Wale's aggression in a video and I told my wife this man if God gets hold of him, he will be a good preacher.

"Somebody tell Shatta Wale, he can be a very good preacher. He should come and preach with us," he said.

The memorial was attended by two government ministers - Communications Minister Ursula Owusu-Ekuful whose constituency includes Ebony's Dansoman residence and Tourism and Creative Arts Minister Catherine Afeku.

Big names in the entertainment industry including Becca, Shatta Wale and sister Deborah all paid their respects to the late music star.

Before praying for the family of the late Ebony Reigns, the pastor asked the gathering to observe a minute silence for the departed promise of the star born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng.
