Eyewitnesses Narrate How Ebony's Fatal Accident Occurred

Some eyewitnesses who were at the scene of the accident have detailed how it took place.

According to the eyewitnesses, Ebony and the other accident victims were stuck in the car for a very long time before being removed.

Speaking in a telephone interview with Ultimate FM, one eyewitness revealed that around 10:30 PM, a loud sound was heard, indicating that there had been a collision.

He added that many people rushed to the scene and realized that a Jeep had collided with a VIP Bus.

He said none of the passengers in the VIP Bus suffered any injuries except the bus conductor who sustained some cuts.

The eyewitness then said the bus conductor alerted them that another car was involved in the accident.

He said many people rushed to the Jeep in which Ebony was traveling and met the driver of the Jeep who revealed that some people were trapped in the car.

The driver then requested for a piece of paper and pen, and wrote down Ebony’s name as one of the occupants of the Jeep along with a military man and another female teenager.

The eyewitness said that they quickly called in the National Fire Service stationed in Bechem, however, they could not do much so they called for backup from the GNFS who were in Sunyani to come and assist.

He said the collaborated effort of the security personnel allowed the bodies to be retrieved from the Jeep.

In corroborating the incident, another eyewitness who spoke to UTV indicated that when the accident happened, Ebony’s Jeep appeared to have somersaulted and hit other oncoming cars.

He said that the police were phoned but they only arrived with a cutlass which was the tool they were using to cut open the car.

He added that it took the joint effort of the security personnel to finally remove the bodies from the car.

Ebony who was returning from Sunyani after a visit met her untimely death at age 20.

It is reported that she was returning to Accra to make preparations for a trip to America.

Born Priscilla Opoku-Kwarteng on February 16, 1997, Ebony was a dancehall/Afrobeats artist widely known for her hit songs "Poison" and "Kupe."
