Opinion My Beef On Recent GMB Award, 2017
NOV 23, 2017 LISTEN

Sometimes, I hardly believe how some of the most award winning candidates such as Volta region who won as much as 8 Awards, and the least winners become the crown winner. And if those most popular award winners could be adjudged as having done well for about 8, 6, 5 awards, how come that they were eliminated from the competition even earlier before the grand finale? Even though the public held 40% by texting, the judges held as much as 60% which ultimately determined or factored to promote someone to next level. And that was well exhibited by the judges as they adjudged some of the performers to won 8, 6, awards only to be turned round to eliminate such best performers without reaching even the grand finale.

I am tempted to say the judges might have exhibited some element of biased towards the ending of the GMB.

I also suggest that next time, the judges should be chosen to outnumbered 2. Either 3 or 5 judges should affirmed the credibility of the expensive program of GMB. Not because of anything that we see our courts empanel to 5, 7 or 9 to judge an important cases but simply to uphold and deliver credible judgement.

And I am still wondering where Uncle David as David Dontoh did not featured as judge in this year's GMB.

I also observed that the drummers were not the previous groups but that was not so much important. I think every region sponsored a candidate to such expensive program adorned with mouthwatering prices and one expects nothing but unbiased officiating if there is any. Hence judges could not be chosen as 2 but more than that. One's emotional intelligence could not be violated as a result of biased judgement.

The public follows this GMB till its logical conclusion. Let's not dampen the spirit of successive candidates and the regions from willingly coming to contest.
