The Ghana Actors Guild has called for a ceasefire in the ongoing media war between some popular actors and actresses in the movie industry who are also members of the group.

According to the Guild, it will look into the issue that led to the controversy and ensure that peace prevails.

The call comes after some popular actors and actresses in the Ghanaian movie industry, including Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win and Kwaku Manu, have been in the media attacking each other.

It all started when musician Top Kay, who is alleged to be Lil Win’s Fetish Priest, came out with a song titled ‘Mo Tan Me’ [meaning: You Hate Me].

In the song, Top Kay claims that some industry players have been wishing for the downfall of Lil Win and went ahead to cast a slur on them.

The lyrical content in the song did not go down well with Kwaku Manu, who claimed that, Lil Win was behind the song and that he deliberately incited Top Kay to attack him through the lyrics.

Kwaku Manu also launched an attack on Lil Win and rained curses on him.

Some other industry players like Vivian Jill and Big Akwess also waded into the controversy and registered their displeasure about the song.

Ashanti regional President of the Actors Guild, Bill Asamoah, speaking in an interview with Adom Entertainment News, called on the actors to ceasefire and instead concentrate on building the industry.

“We have an industry to protect and our own reputations as individuals to take care of so ceasefire and wait to hear from the regional executives,” he said.
