The 3rd Coming of Deeba...Jay Q Sheds More Light On Album
05.03.2007 LISTEN

After two successful albums, Deeba got missing in action in the Ghanaian music industry. Deeba has courted one of Ghana's biggest sound engineer / producer for hits on his next album. Boosted by a Hammer produced song titled, 'Deeba' in the late 90s Deeba is bouncing back after a long stay in the UK.

Jay Q and Deeba are about to give hiplife music, the best album it has ever heard.

Although he's been quietly producing for Deeba, Ghana Music.com was able to seek and find out what Jay Q has for the music industry.

This album began as a promised collaboration entirely between Jay Q and Deeba. In a telephone conversation with Deeba in London, he said "I had a link up with Jay Q, continuously rang him and he agreed to record me, sure then communication has been good", he said.

"I was in UK last year September to record Yoggy Doggy's dancehall album and met him. After a good communication, I went back in December last year. Deeba financed my trip and the whole recording project", Jay Q confirmed.

The first brilliant thing Deeba is doing is recording a few songs with Jay Q. Secondly doing a few songs with Hammer, the Ghanaian hip-hop beats maker. Thirdly, listening to Jay Q's advice to feature Castro, Screwface and Kwaw Kese on the album. With all this in his mind, why wouldn't the album make it?

Deeba also said all those who are saying Deeba is dead; this is the album to prove the back biters wrong.

One thing too about Deeba's rebirth is he has always wanted to come but also wanted to come out big with Jay Q. For now, Jay Q has done four songs with him and will be going to UK to finish the work.

Another big question I posed to Jay Q was Deeba is known to be a hardcore rapper so would his beats fit him? "Yes I know that, I am not going the usual way; but am fusing hip-hop and jama". From this Jay Q says he bringing out a new genre called 'corejam' (a fusion of hiphop and jama).

Mid this year, Deeba will be the talk of the industry, "his return", "his sell-out album” and "will he stay on".

Why shouldn't Deeba reign or walk tall on the Ghanaian music industry again, a title position he held some time ago. Well his colorful, energetic, and deeply honest album, whether written by Deeba or not, will be the most revealing work to date.
