The 2015 edition of the annual Sankofa Senior High Schools Drama Competition has ended successfully in Accra after three days of competition.
At the end of the competition held at the main hall of the Centre for National Culture in Accra, Kinbu Senior High Technical School emerged the overall winners, followed by Nungua Senior High School whilst St Thomas Aquinas came third.
Special prizes were given to Best Actor/Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, and several other categories. The outstanding individual prize received at the event was the Suzy Williams Award for Eloquence.
Sixteen (16) Senior High Schools participated in the nineteenth edition of the competition. This year's plays and productions were well directed.
New entrants to the competition included Manhean Senior High School, Garrison Senior High School, La Presec, Armed Forces Senior High School and St Paul’s Senior High School.
Two judges were from the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, Legon, and the third judge was from University of Cape Coast, Performing Arts Department.
Daniel Carl Clerk of the Arts Centre, Accra, said next year Sankofa would be twenty years old and that the competition would come with style and have all past students passing through.
The competition was branded, supported and sponsored by Indomie Gh.
