22.07.2005 LISTEN

The success of Mobile Boys, the most significant and influential group in hiplife history comes as no surprise to long-time followers of Reggie Rockstone.

Equally rooted in hiplife and hip-hop, Mobile Boys comprising of Kochoqo, Grey and Nkonyaa will be the first and most successful hiplife group to emerge from Reggie Rockstone’s camp. They had their breakthrough when they featured on Reggie Rockstone’s last album titled “Last Show” on a track titled “Mobile Phone”.

More than a decade in the making, Mobile Boys (a name that was coined after they featured on Reggie’s Mobile Phone song) are now set to release their explosive, long-anticipated debut album, “We Do”.

Kochoqo simply defines the album as the real definition of hiplife. They want to cause a revolution in the Ghanaian music industry with their upcoming album.

Nkonyaa, another member of Mobile Boys had this to say, “Reggie is doing real hiplife. As hiplife soldiers, we are not in for competition and fun, we are serious boys who want to cross the border with a our new album.

So lucky for them Tinny, Dogo, Bed Sheet, Reggie Rockstone, Nicky (London), Kwame Fakye and some surprising artistes featured on the album.

Mobile Boys had this to say about the way forward for the Ghanaian music industry. “Engineers should be creative and stop playing one beat. Jama and Kpanlogo is really belittling the industry. ‘PAYOLA’ is also killing us. It’s like if you don’t pay, we won’t play”.

With one voice, they define the album as “Unseen, unheard, untouchable, unbreakable, undefeated, biggest break ‘thru’ and if you want to join the train, lace your timberland boots as a soldier or else you will be a loser because we don’t play”.

Some days, weeks, months and years to come, Mobile boys will stand on their feet and put their hands on their chest that they are now matured in the hiplife game. They could be reached on 233 24 350 8080.
