AfricaMagic begins the showing of a new Ghanaian series, Tenant from today Monday at 8:30 pm on Africa Magic Entertainment (channel 151).


Tenant is set at No. 13 Yonge Avenue, a six apartment building complex owned by forty-year-old Sylvia Stokes, a Ghanaian who decides to return home to Accra after spending several successful years in Canada.

Managed by Sylvia's astute and very strict accountant, Cletus Ayensu, the residents of 13 Yonge Avenue come from all around the country and abroad in the confidence of starting a brand new life in this seemingly peaceful place abound with hope and possibility of a brighter future.

From two newly weds whose zest for life (and each other) brings the apartment block to life, the retired pensioner who thinks he has seen a better Ghana in his heyday, a strange man who refuses to leave his room, to the upright brother who strives to keep his younger sister under lock and key from the curious eye of the foreign student, and a young lady who parades her wealthy suitors to the rest of the apartment. It is a non-stop comedy and drama beyond our wildest imagination.

Tenant is created, written, directed and produced for M-Net Africa by the Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards nominated Ghanaian duo of Shirley Frimpong Manso and Ken Attoh of Sparrows Productions.

Speaking on behalf of Africa Magic Entertainment, M-Net Africa Managing Director Mrs. Biola Alabi says, 'We are proud of our partnership with Sparrow Productions in the creation of our first fully commissioned locally produced series in Ghana. Africa Magic continues to strive to showcase great entertainment made in Africa for Africans. The cast line-up includes the much loved Nana Ama McBrown, David Oscar, as well as Kingsley Yamoah, Christabel Ekeh, Kay Elliot, Luckie Lawson, Frankincense Eche-Ben, Helen Asante and Roselyn Ngissah from Ghana. The Nigerian cast includes Aniekan Iyoho and Peter Ritchie.
