Fans thrilled by Kwasi Pee and Friends concert

Ghanaian highlife artiste Akwasi Opoku popularly known as Kwasi Pee and friends treated highlife lovers to enthralling music performances as part of the African Union Day celebrations.

The maiden edition of the “Kwasi Pee and Friends” concert was aimed at bringing the highlife artistes together on one stage to commemorate the golden jubilee of the African Union.

The highlife artistes who performed alongside Kwasi Pee included Irene Logan, Pat Thomas, Kofi B, George Darko, Nana Kontihene and KK Fosu.

This exceptional list of seasoned highlife artistes thrilled thousands of patrons who filled the Golden Tulip Hotel gardens in Accra on Saturday 26, 2013.

Irene Logan kicked off the show with her hit songs like Run Away, Heat It Up and many of her danceable songs.

Pat Thomas raised the momentum and kept the fans on their feet as he puts up one of the greatest performances at the night with songs like' Sika ye mogya among other hit songs.

Talented Kofi B who mounted the stage looking fresh in his African wear did not miss the opportunity to get the crowd deeper into his songs like, Afia Donkor and Koforidua Flowers.

The king of burger-highlife, George Darko set the auditorium alight with songs like Odo Colour, Ako Te Brofo, Highlife time, Kaakyire Nua.

Young and energetic Nana Kontihene who is known in private life as Emmanuel Nana Appiah Boateng also charged the stage with his exciting hit songs like Asesa and Kro hin kro and others.

He was unique on the night. Born Kaakyire Kwame Fosu but known as KK. Fosu in the entertainment fraternity, he took over the stage with Obaa Pa, Number 1, Anadwo Yede and many more.

The headline artiste, Kwasi Pee stormed the stage with white and red African wear with a cowboy hat to match. He was simply on top of the game as he dished out one melodious song after another. The already ecstatic crowd could not stop dancing to tunes such as Me hia odo, Krokro Me, Obaapa hoyena, Otwe Ma Me, Sh3 Ahw3n33 and others.

In an interview with Adom News, Kwasi Pee expressed his profound gratitude to his fans and the organizers.

“I think is wonderful and for me it's something new I am trying to introduce and I thank God for the support and the encouragement from my colleague artistes in the industry and the sponsors,” Kwasi Pee commented.

Events and Promotions Executive at Multimedia Group Limited, Lawrence Tamakloe has described the show as very interesting and laudable.

The event was powered by Planet One Multimedia with media support from Ghana's entertainment powerhouse, Adom 106.3 FM, Joy FM, Asempa FM and Hitz FM.
