A few years ago, the Ghanaian gospel scene was wowed by a vivacious female songstress whose funk and contemporary style coupled with her distinct sound and alluring spiritual lyrics made her a favourite of many gospel music lovers across the country.
Her repertoire of hits included 'Wagye Me' 'Meyi Waye' 'Gye Me' and many other hit songs from four albums spanning over 5 years.
Jael Wiafe became a mainstay on the music scene staying true to her style and setting the pace for many of the unconventional acts in her genre today.
In the midst of it all, the songstress decided to take a break resulting in a long hiatus from the music industry.
Her numerous fans will however be happy to learn that, the spirited contemporary gospel music act is returning to the gospel music fold, reborn and better than ever with the release of her new single titled 'Adonai.'
According to Jael, her break from the gospel music scene was a move aimed at enabling her to take a much needed spiritual journey to strengthen her spiritual relationship with God in order to truly be able to affect and inspire the lives of people with her music.
'Adonai' is therefore the first in a series of soul inspiring songs off her upcoming album set to be launched in July.
The album is a culmination of her years of re-examining her spirituality and deepening her resolve to impact people's lives and pursue the work of God with her music as well as other projects she is set to embark on in the coming months.
Her latest single, is a clear indication that, just like her evergreen good looks and amazing voice, the enchanting songstress has not lost any of her youthful spark, energy and funky touch as she brings more of her unique style of gospel music, which is a fusion of African, Caribbean, and western music to bare on the song.
The music video for 'Adonai' will be released on all major networks nationwide on 27th May, 2013.
