Most Ghanaians consider themselves aficionados of comedy and amateur comedians are a dime a dozen in the country. Comedy is ravenously consumed in all art-forms and any show, music or film with a twist of comedy is a sure hit with the public.

Our popular art folklore was dotted with comedy greats such as Bob Santo, Bob Okalla, Waterproof, Nkomode and recently Agya Koo, Kwaku Manu, Mr. Beautiful etc.

The success garnered by these great comedians has become a beacon of hope for all the amateur comedians looking for a life changing experience.

Based on these facts, Adom TV , one of the channels on Multi TV has designed 'Sere kwakwa Comedy Talent Show' set to identify and promote the numerous underground comedians in the country.

This was a talent show competition that would pit talented comedians against each other to vie for the ultimate prize over a period of eight weeks. It would be a weekly show and eviction shall be based on judges' score.

Contestants would undergo series of performances, stand-up comedy routines, skits, sketches etc.

Serekwakwa would be accompanied by live band music within an audience setting.

Audition for the northern sector would be happening at the Kumasi Cultural Centre on September 24, at 9:00 a.m. sharp.

The southern sector audition was slated for September 29, at the Accra Arts Centre.

The show, which was open to all comedians throughout the country, was free.  Clement Bonney aka Mr. Beautiful was the main presenter for this Adom TV initiative.
