According to a statement issued by Big Events Ghana, the organizers of the event, it was appropriate to temporarily suspend it as a matter of national reverence for the late President.
'We deem it totally appropriate to accord all attention and respect to our late President, John Evans Atta Mills.
'As our nation's flags fly at half mast and the entire country huddles together in observance of this solemn period in our history, we join our radio and television personalities as they console and comfort a bereaved nation through these difficult times.
'We will monitor the tampered mood of the nation over the next few days and announce an appropriately respectable date in due course'. The statement said.
