Ghanaian female musician Diamond Appiah, who was reported to have attempted to commit suicide last week, has denied the rumours.

Speaking to BEATWAVES in an interview yesterday, Diamond disclosed that she attempted to commit suicide in a movie, titled 'The Sadness of Dawn ' in which she played the role of an unhappy wife whose husband was wealthy but troublesome.

She noted that in the movie, she decided to end it all because of the ill-treatment meted out to her by her rich husband.

She disclosed that although the pictures of her lying unconscious on the floor with some tablets spread around her 'confirmed' the rumour, those were shot taken on the location of the movie.

She told BEATWAVES , 'I was out of town when he rumour started spreading. Most of my friends who could not reach me on my phone thought I had committed suicide. I am alive and still working on my new album which will be released soon'.

The diva, who has three hit music videos to her credit, last month released another bouncing hit single, ' Kaa Fe Dull'.  The new single is now available for free and music fans can visit www.bigx.com http://www.bigx.com/ to download it.

The hit single was premiered on some selected radio stations in the UK, Canada and Nigeria and played in the Big Brother House.

Diamond is known as someone who has kept her style conservative but elegant. She always appears unique at event grounds and on stage.

Diamond revealed that her latest album, ' Diva of all Divas', will be launched later this year.

Currently, she is making waves on the music scene with her three singles, ' Taste My Apple', 'Popping' and Kaa Fe Dull.

Recently, she has received quite a number of reviews in the music arena, following what many music fans have described as her wild, top of the range and extreme fashion which she has employed in her music.

The many reviews, assertions and opinions from the public, according to the hip-life star, have helped her stay on course in her resolve to maintain what to her is her original style.
